Why we do this

This cause is personal.

Moffitt Cancer Center events · Tampa Bay festivals · One mission: hope.

We don't just play cancer benefits. We live this.

Mad Blondie & DJSaxman perform at festivals and events that raise money for the cancer community — including events for Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa. For Sonia, every benefit stage is a chance to stand in front of people who are fighting, surviving, and remembering — and show them what's possible on the other side of a diagnosis.

A benefit audience gives differently when the entertainment understands the mission. Wright's saxophone and 40+ years on stage carry the celebration. Sonia carries the reason.

Sonia — known on stage as Mad Blondie. Three-time cancer survivor, still singing.

Sonia's story

Three-time survivor. Still singing.

Singing in bars gave Sonia throat cancer in 2002 — and the voice that was her life became the thing cancer tried to take. Over the last 25 years she has beaten cancer three times and endured 80 procedures.

Today she is one of the oldest surviving feeding-tube adults on record. Specialists at Cleveland Clinic follow her story, and Columbia University follows her progression — because the way she is living is teaching medicine something.

Sonia uses that experience to educate and encourage people walking the road she has already traveled — sharing her testimony to give support and hope to others going through what she has been through. And she still takes the stage. When she sings at your event, your audience isn't hearing a performer talk about hope. They're watching it.

Giving back

Music that raises more than money.

Hope is a fundraising strategy — and nobody delivers it like someone who has lived it.

Where we play for the cause:

  • Cancer benefit concerts and galas
  • Festival stages raising money for the cancer community
  • Events for Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa
  • Survivor celebrations and remembrance moments
  • Fundraisers anywhere in Tampa Bay

Between songs, Sonia tells her story in her own words — learning about cancer, coping, and holding on to hope while the work toward a cure continues. It connects your cause to every heart in the room.
